#YearoftheTiger
Charlotte Jade celebrates the year of the Tiger 2022
With Christmas just around the corner, at CJ HQ we’re already thinking ahead to what 2022 will have in store for the world of interiors!
There is no denying that the last two years have been unlike any others the world has experienced. A global pandemic has seen people spending more time isolated indoors, and in a lot of cases working from home. At the most challenging times of lockdown, we had to evolve our homes from the spaces where we reside to the spaces where we also digitally socialise, exercise and work.
Because of these blurred lines between home, leisure and work, and generally the significant amount of time we have had to spend indoors, the interiors of our homes have never been as important.
In my #Biophilicdesign blog, I discussed how nature inspired design in internal spaces can support our health, wellbeing and productivity. I think it’s fair to say these were three attributes we all struggled with during lockdown! So, as we adjust to the ‘new normal’ and hybrid working, I think we are ready to rewild our homes, bring the outdoors in, and make a powerful statement with our interiors!
2022 is the Chinese year of the Tiger, and with the interior trends I’ve been seeing gaining traction in the recent months I think next year will see us have more fun with our interiors and Tigers are going to own the spotlight!
Tiger’s are stunning animals with intricate markings, particularly around their face, that convey their beauty & sense of authority. In my recent CJ Tiger designs, I studied their markings and recreated them by hand. I aimed to capture the personality that shines through their markings as they position their posture and facial expressions. In some stances and expressions Tiger’s look elegant, alluring, and cute even, like an oversized domestic cat. In others they appear powerful, authoritative, and even threatening. This is why I chose to draw the Tiger in their whole form, rather than only focussing on a Tiger stripe print; to truly recreate the beauty of these creatures the design needed to capture Tiger’s in their realistic form.
Every Charlotte Jade design aims to create a sense of escapism and adventure. I hope that in using this design my clients will feel they have Tiger’s in their home, and what can be more adventurous than inviting Tiger’s indoors!? Styled with gold details and luxurious velvets to match the deep navy blue & vibrant golds within the design itself, these Tiger’s are set to create a rich and opulent atmosphere within whichever room you choose to house them throughout 2022 and beyond.
